Spanish Immersion/Tax deductible and credit-bearing

Our language trips to University of Havana and to Cienfuegos are recognised by the sole authority in matters of education in Canada, that is the provincial government. In this case, it is the Quebec Government's Ministry of Education through Drummondville College in Drummondville, Quebec that recognises the study abroad language trips. Therefore, the tuition fees are tax deductible for all residents in Canada, irrespective of the province where our clients reside.

The amounts deductible as tuition fees are as follows:

Two-week trip: 500$ CA
Three-week trip: 700$ CA
Four-week trip: 900$ CA

Participants who have completed the course in Cuba with us can receive an official tuition fee receipt from Drummondville College that can be used for your tax deductions and for credits. In order to receive it you have to fill out the registration form and send us a copy of your birth certificate with the following information:
- First and last name
- Sex
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- First and last name of your father
- First and maiden name of your mother
- Registration number
- Date of issue

For those who are not born in Canada, in addition to the birth certificate you have to send us a proof of the Canadian citizenship (a copy of both sides of the citizenship card or a copy of the passport)
For those who live in Canada but are not yet Canadian citizen, in addition to the birth certificate, you have to send us a document issued by Citizenship and immigration Canada to attest your status in Canada (copy of both sides of your Permanent Resident card or a copy of both bides of the IMM1000 form).

In addition, each of our language trips are credit-bearing, that is two (2) credits are applicable to the college level once the client has completed at least a two-week course.

In order to have the credits applicable to the university level, this depends on the university.

In addition to providing a tax deduction of about 125$ CA to 175 $CA for each participant (depending on the personal income), the official credit-bearing feature of our study abroad programs is yet another proof that the courses we offer in Cuba are of a superior quality and well organized.

Receipts are issued for the current year. If your file is not complete (the mark from the University of Havana is delayed or the birth certificate not being sent on time) they will be issued for the following year.
Sometimes there is a delay to receive the mark from Cuba. We apologize for the trouble if you cannot receive your receipts on time for your income tax deduction. This will only be an administrative delay and you will receive them for the following year.
